Islanders Pay A Visit To Camp Avenue School
The North Merrick students heard from the players about teamwork, education and more.

From NY Islanders:Three players from the New York Islanders ice hockey team visited with Camp Avenue students on November 19 for Islanders School Day. Camp Avenue was selected from a winning application on school spirit. Mathew Barzal, Anders Lee and Matt Martin talked about their career paths, teamwork, and the importance of education, smart decision making and following one’s dreams. Students in all grades had the chance to ask thoughtful questions, and fifth and sixth graders had the added opportunity of receiving one of the players’ autographs. Students and staff showed their enthusiasm by wearing Islander jerseys or blue and orange and carrying signs to cheer on the team.
