Kennedy Students Hold Fundraiser For Food Pantry

The students cooked dinner for guests and provided live music, too.

MERRICK, NY - From the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District: The John F. Kennedy High School community joined together on Dec. 18 to host a Ladles of Love fundraising dinner event to benefit the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s food pantry.

The C.H.A.M.P. students whipped up dishes such as beef stroganoff and seafood paella in Kennedy’s state of the art kitchen prepped food. The music department provided entertainment including a few jazzy Michael Jackson numbers. Members of the Key Club and Student Government served as hosts and the JFK Staff Association organized and packaged raffle baskets.

Dylan Lipman, a freshman and student ambassador for the district’s One Voice, One Message initiative, said he broached the idea with Principal David Seinfeld and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri a few weeks ago as a way to become more involved with helping the Community Cupboard.
