The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Kennedy High School community joined together on Dec. 18 to host a Ladles of Love fundraising dinner event to benefit the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District's food pantry.The C.H.A.M.P. students whipped up dishes such as beef stroganoff and seafood paella in Kennedy's state of the art kitchen prepped food. The music department provided entertainment including a few jazzy Michael Jackson numbers. Members of the Key Club and Student Government served as hosts and the JFK Staff Association organized and packaged raffle baskets.Dylan Lipman, a freshman and student ambassador for the district's One Voice, One Message initiative, said he broached the idea with Principal David Seinfeld and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri a few weeks ago as a way to become more involved with helping the Community Cupboard."It is important for us – the Kennedy community – to give back," he added.
