Lindenhurst Man Arrested After Fatal Freeport Crash: Police

The accident took place Sept. 3, police say.

FREEPORT, NY. — A 24-year-old Lindenhurst man is facing vehicular manslaughter charges Tuesday after being arrested in connection with the Sept. 3 car crash that killed 55-year-old Queens resident Craig White, police said.

Nassau County police announced Tuesday that 24-year-old Bryan Mizhirumbay had been arrested in connection with the crash. According to police, Mizhirumbay was driving a 2022 Honda eastbound on Atlantic Avenue at 11:09 p.m. the night of the crash when his car collided with a 2015 Honda, driven by White, traveling northbound on S. Long Beach Road. Both men were hospitalized, police said, and White was pronounced dead by a hospital physician 40 minutes later.

Mizhirumbay faces a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide, first-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault, aggravated DWI, DWI and reckless driving, police said. His arraignment took place Tuesday in Mineola, police said.
