Calhoun notched its first win of the season this morning behind the arm and bat of Jessica Livingston.

Jessica Livingston threw her second career no-hitter, striking out 13 batters along the way, as the Calhoun softball team defeated Hempstead this morning, 20-0.
Livingston helped her own cause in a big way at the plate, belting two home runs and driving in nine RBIs. Also contributing for the visiting Lady Colts was freshman center fielder Cassie Beccaris, who went 2-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs.
Sophomore Danielle Losee knocked in four runs and scored five times, going 3-5 at the plate.

Calhoun notched its first league victory of the season after three straight defeats.
"This was a classic Livingston game," head coach Jason Boland said. "She was dominant on the mound and was in the middle of every rally. After a few tough losses this season, she finally got run support and deserved the win."

Junior shortstop Ashlee Lowerre also scored five times and went 2-3. Calhoun has four big league games coming up this week, and the coach said he hopes today's win builds momentum.
"With all their hard work this spring, the girls deserved this win," Boland said. "We need to feed off of today's success and carry that over into the next few games."
The Lady Colts play at Hicksville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
