- A suspected car thief was busted on possession of crack cocaine in Garden City Park Sunday morning, police say. Mohamed Elgendy was taken into custody after allegedly driving off in a 1999 Honda that was left idling outside a 7-Eleven. (Daily Voice)
- A shoplifter was intercepted at Macy's in East Garden City on Saturday. Antwain Key, age 32, of Hempstead, allegedly tried to leave the store with a bag full of sweaters and jackets without paying. Store employees say that Key wielded a knife when they tried to confront him in the parking lot. (Daily Voice)
- A Brooklyn chef brings special occasion dining to Bellmore with the opening of Bluebird Kitchen. Chef/owner Albert Di Meglio's restaurant occupies the space that formerly served as Red Robin on Merrick Road.
