Man Robbed By Pair Of Men Leaving Frankie's Pizzeria In Merrick: Cops

It happened as the person was in the parking lot on Wednesday morning, police say.

MERRICK, NY — A man was robbed Tuesday morning leaving Frankie's Pizzeria in Merrick.

As the 42-year-old victim left the shop, just before noon, an unknown man approached him in the parking lot and told the victim his sweatshirt had lotion on it.

The victim went to his car and removed his sweatshirt, which contained an envelope of cash in a pocket, authorities said.

As the first suspect left on foot, a second person approached, pointing at the sweatshirt and speaking Spanish.

The victim realized he no longer had the envelope.

An investigation determined, both men had squirted the victim from behind with a lotion while he was exiting the pizzeria.
