Man Tried To Flee, Attacked Officer During Traffic Stop: Police
Police say the man was very agitated when he was pulled over, and that he dropped drugs from his pocket when he stepped out of his car.

Nassau police say a Roosevelt man was arrested on Friday night after he assaulted an officer after a traffic stop.
According to police, officers pulled over a car on Lincoln Avenue in Roosevelt just after 8:30 p.m. The driver, Lamin Dawo, 30, of Lincoln Avenue, became very agitated and aggressive with the officers, police say. Dawo was asked to step out of the car, at which point police say drugs fell out of his pocket. Dawo then tried to flee on foot, police said.
Officers attempted to place Dawo under arrest. Police say he resisted, repeatedly striking an officer and attempting to get his gun. Dawo was subdued and taken into custody.
