  1. Ex-Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Thursday, April 14. His wife got 15 months. The pair were found guilty of corruption crimes and abuses of power. (Newsday)
  2. Charges related to a 2019 shooting of a taxi driver who lost an eye as a result have been dropped. On April 14, the Nassau County DA elected to not pursue the attempted murder indictment of Malcolm Griffin after an investigation demonstrated that one of their witnesses was not reliable. (Daily Voice)
  3. A teen was hospitalized in critical condition on April 15 after crashing into a semi-trailer in Uniondale. The 18-year-old was driving a 2018 Jeep when she hit the unoccupied trailer on Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Cunningham Avenue early Friday morning. Authorities are investigating the crash. (Daily Voice)
  4. Classic car fans will want to head over to Garden City for the Annual Vintage Car Parade on Sunday. The parade is set to start at 1 p.m. at Parking Field 9E on 10th Street, then head south on Franklin Avenue, west on 7th Street and end at Hilton Avenue. (Patch)
