MECA Pool Provides Construction Update

Editor's Note: The following was written by representatives of MECA Pool.

Hello all. This is update one of six, which you will receive each week leading up to our opening.

Construction is well underway!

Status:

• Electrical Grid repaired
• Large pool - cleaned spotless!
• Chairs - cleaned and laid out
• Kiddie Pool pump and filter - completely replaced and ready to go!
• Large pool pump - in progress

May 4: Our new fencing starts being put up
May 8: All doors replaced and roof repaired
May 10: Diving board and lifeguard stands repaired
May 31: All renovations completed
June 1-10: All new landscaping and cosmetic work completed, new umbrellas and stands installed and all with time to spare!

We will be having our open-house preview day on June 15, so that families thinking about joining can come to the pool. Dues will remain $1,495 until the end of that day, and then they will increase to $1,595.

Did you know MECA will open again on June 15? Yep, nothing can stop MECA. We've obtained the necessary funds to rebuild, and construction has already begun.

Did you know that from now on, if you live in Merrick, you can only come to MECA as a guest one time the entire summer? That's right - for those of you who liked to come as guests multiple times each summer, you will now be limited to one visit the entire summer. You will be required to bring ID with you to enter as a guest.

Our dues are currently $1,495 for the entire summer - less than any other full summer option around. That pays for you entire family (living in your home) for 3 months of MECA. Dues will be going up after opening day. Join now.
