Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., R-Merrick, recently congratulated Merrick resident Marc Hamroff on being appointed to the New York State Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Advisory Board.
Hamroff was appointed to the Advisory Board by Senate Majority Coalition Leader Dean Skelos at the recommendation of Fuschillo.
The New York State Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Advisory Board’s role is to advise the State Commissioner of Health on tobacco use prevention and control issues, including methods to prevent and reduce tobacco use in the state.
Hamroff has been a longtime volunteer and supporter of the American Heart Association’s Long Island Chapter. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors and is a past recipient of the Association’s Development Achievement Award in 2010 in recognition of his outstanding service to the organization. Hamroff is also a past board member of the Long Island Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence (LICADD).
“Marc Hamroff is a knowledgeable, dedicated, and highly qualified professional whose experience will make him a valuable addition to the State’s Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Advisory Board,” Fuschillo said. “I congratulate him on his appointment and thank him for his service.”
