Merrick Man Threatens to Hit Teen With Belt During Attempted Robbery: Police
The 20-year-old, along with another man who has yet to be arrested, used a car to block the boy as he rode his bicycle, police say.

BELLMORE, NY - A Merrick man was arrested after stopping a 14-year-old boy and threatening to hit him with a belt if he didn't empty his pockets in Bellmore last Thursday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.
Paul G. Zydor, 20, who was with another man yet to be arrested, used his car to block the boy as he rode his bicycle on St. Marks Place at about 4:35 p.m., police said.
The two men ordered the boy to empty his pockets, police said.

After victim refused, Zydor exited the passenger side of car and removed his belt threatening to hit the teen if he did not empty his pockets, according to police.
The victim then dropped his bicycle and walked over to a nearby bank security guard, asking for him to call Seventh Precinct Police.

On Monday, Zydor, of of 2122 Kirkwood Avenue, surrendered himself to the Seventh Precinct. He is charged with second degree robbery.
