Merrick Road Crash Leaves 66-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition, Police Say

The man was hit while crossing the road by an eastbound vehicle, police say.

FREEPORT, NY. — A 66-year-old man was left in critical condition Wednesday night after being hit by a car while crossing Merrick Road in Freeport, police said.

Nassau County police did not identify the man publicly Thursday morning, saying only that he was hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in the crash that took place at 8:10 p.m. Police identified neither the make and model of the car, nor the driver, asking anyone with information about the incident to call crime stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Police didn’t report any arrests or charges made in relation to the crash either.
