The Merrick School District will hold kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year from Monday, Jan. 30 through Friday, Feb. 3 at Birch, Chatterton and Norman J. Levy Lakeside elementary schools.
Children who will reach the age of 5 on or before Dec. 1, 2017 are eligible to enroll in September’s kindergarten class. To make an appointment, contact your neighborhood school between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. If you are unsure of your school, call the district’s transportation office at 516-992-7285 to see which school is in your vicinity.
On the day of registration, please bring your child and provide his or her original birth or baptismal certificate (with a raised seal on either document). Also provide the necessary health forms indicating the completion of all required immunizations signed by your physician. All immunization requirements can be found here.
