Merrick Selects All-County Musicians

There were 19 students chosen to represent the district at the special concerts.

From Merrick Schools: The Merrick School District’s music department is proud to announce that 19 talented students have been chosen to participate in the Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Music Festival concerts Jan. 7-14 at LIU Post’s Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. Additionally, six students have been selected to perform in the Long Island String Festival Association’s Nassau Intermediate Festival taking place March 2-4 at Uniondale High School.

These fine music students distinguished themselves after receiving outstanding scores on their performances at the New York State School Music Association solo and ensemble evaluation festivals last May. “Our talented student-artists continue to make us proud, and we look forward to seeing and hearing them as they shine on the big stage,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Dominick Palma. “I congratulate and commend the students for their dedication to the performing arts and their parents, music teachers and music coordinator Paul Graham for their support in helping them to achieve these musical accolades.”
