Merrick Subway Restaurant Robbed at Knifepoint
The robbery occurred Friday night, police say. Is it the work of a serial robber?

A Merrick Subway restaurant was robbed at knifepoint Friday night and Nassau Police say they are investigating to see if the incident is connected to several other recent robberies in the county.
According to police, a man entered the Subway located at 1341 Jerusalem Avenue around 9:09 p.m. Friday.He approached an employee, displayed a kitchen knife and demanded that she open the register.
The robber fled the sandwich shop with an undetermined amount of cash. He was last seen heading westbound on Jerusalem Avenue. The employee was alone in the store at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.

The robber was described as black, around 6-feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored mask, sunglasses, black gloves, blue jeans and tan work boots.
That description is similar to a man police say has robbed four Dunkin' Donuts stores–two in Plainview, and one each in New Hyde Park and East Meadow–and a 7-Eleven in Old Bethpage this month.
