Merrick Youngster Creates More Charity Thanks To Her Pieces Of Art
Ten-year-old Julianna Tand has raised nearly $20,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.

NORTH MERRICK, NY — There is being charitable and then there's 10-year-old Julianna Tand.
As Patch introduced you to Tand in October, she was busy creating sculptures and painting as a cottage industry for helping others.
The talented fifth grader at Old Mill Road School has chosen the Ronald McDonald House to focus her fundraising efforts.

Next week, Tand will present a "big check" to the Ronald McDonald House, New York Metro chapter. Her mother Jennifer told Patch that her clay works and other efforts brought in more than $11,000 in 2022.
Add that to the $8,300 Tand raised for the local Ronald McDonald House in the past two years, and she single-handledly has brought the organization upwards of $20,000 for families of ill children and their families.

"[It] prove[s] that one person can make a difference," Jennifer Tand said.
