Nassau Chiropractor Sexually Assaulted Patient For Second Time: Police

Police say he inappropriately touched a patient during a routine checkup.

A Merrick doctor was arrested Monday morning after police say he sexually abused one of his patients.

According to police, a 42-year-old woman was a patient at the Valley Stream Chiropractic Wellness Center, located at 65 Roosevelt Ave., scheduled for a routine appointment. She was a patient of Dr. Douglas Dukofsky, 48, of James Street. According to police, Dukofsky inappropriately touched her without her consent.

After an investigation, Dukosfky was arrested at his home Monday morning.

This is not the first time Dukosfky was arrested for assaulting a patient. In 2013, he was arrested after he used a massaging device inappropriately on a 21-year-old female patient. He was using it on her legs and moved it across her genitals two times. The patient's mother was in the room and called police.

Dukosfky is charged with third-degree sexual assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
