MERRICK, NY — This summer, Patch is highlighting the athletes making a difference across Nassau County, from little leaguers to long-distance swimmers.

This week, the athlete of the week is Scott Weisbrot, a Merrick man who made history, scoring in the FIH Para Hockey World Cup, a six-a-side tournament being held in the Netherlands and Belgium.

"I love the sport," Weisbrot told Patch this week. "Field hockey is one of the best sports to play because it's a lot of moving."
