For Farmingdale High School’s varsity cheerleading team, it was a historic week: The team captured a state title after finishing second and third in the last two seasons.
In February, the Dalers won their fourth straight Nassau County championship with a 94.9 score, the highest of any Long Island team this year.

Island Trees Lacrosse Stretches Win Streak To Six
While a 20-1 win over Roosevelt was plenty to celebrate in its own right, the win was important for another reason as well: It was the Island Trees girls lacrosse team's sixth consecutive to start out the season, and the fifth in six wins to come by 10 or more goals.
The Bulldogs are currently scoring at a blistering 15.2 goals per-game pace, bested only by Massapequa — winners of four straight with a 15.8 per-game scoring average — and Plainview-Old Bethpage, who score 16 a game.
In the upcoming Spring break week, Island Trees will take on Bellmore-JFK on Wednesday, Apr. 8. JFK has won its last three contests by a combined score of 32-8 after losing its season opener by just a goal to Division Avenue, meaning Wednesday's contest will hardly be an easy one for the undefeated Bulldogs.
Roosevelt Baseball Continues Hot Start To The Season
Island Trees girls' lacrosse team isn't the only team in Nassau on a six-game win streak, as Roosevelt baseball currently holds a six-game streak of its own.
While Roosevelt has scored into the double digits three times in six games, it has seen some solid pitching and defense thus far as well. The next time Roosevelt allows more than three runs in a game will be the first time all season.
