The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Nassau County police arrested a Uniondale man on Sunday after they say he robbed another man and attacked him with a machete. According to police, they received a 911 call for a man armed with a machete attacking another man on Duryea Avenue in Uniondale at 12:55 a.m. When they arrived, police say they saw Pierre Fede, 29, of Hempstead Boulevard, running away from the scene while holding a machete. Police arrested him without incident.The the 25-year-old victim had suffered cuts and bruises to his face and ear, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which weren't life threatening. Police say that victim's cell phone and cash were stolen by Fede. Fede is charged with first- and second-degree robbery as well as first- and second-degree assault. he is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
