Nassau Man Attacked, Robbed By Armed Muggers

Police say they pulled a knife and a gun on the man and hit him in the back of the head before he was able to flee.

Police are searching for two men who attacked and robbed a man in Uniondale early Saturday morning.

According to police, the man was walking to his car parked in front of the 7-Eleven located at 566 Jerusalem Ave. at 5:15 a.m. Saturday when he was approached by another man that pulled out a knife and demanded his wallet. The man was then struck in the head from behind by a second robber, who pulled out a gun. The man handed over his wallet, and then pushed the two robbers and was able to run away.

The two robbers were last seen running west on Jerusalem Avenue. They stole the man's cell phone and a black wallet containing credit cards and an undetermined amount of cash.

The first robber was a black man, 25 years old, with a thin build, wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt and a read bandanna partially covering his face. The second robber was also a black man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black bandanna covering his face.

Detectives request that anyone with information about this robbery call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or dial 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
