Nassau Man Mugged Friend, Resisted Arrest: Police
Police say he tried to run when officers showed up, and then put up a fight when they attempted to arrest him.
Nassau County police arrested a Uniondale man who they say mugged his friend and then fought with officers when they tried to arrest him.
According to police, at 8:55 a.m. on Sunday, a 20-year-old man was approached by Craig Blackwood, 20, of Summer Avenue, Uniondale. Police say Blackwood took the man's cell phone and Apple Air Pods and then fled on foot.
Police responded to the scene and located Blackwood. Police say Blackwood fled and refused to comply with officer's commands. After a brief struggle, police say that Blackwood was taken into custody, and the stolen property was recovered from his person.

Blackwood is charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
