Nassau Man Robbed 12 Stores Across the County: Police

BREAKING: He was charged with robbing stores across Nassau going back to July.

An Elmont man was arrested Monday and charged in a string of a dozen burglaries across Nassau County.

According to police, detectives saw Eric Burnett, 50, of Eureka Avenue, Elmont, climb over a fence and enter into the rear yard of the Associated Supermarket, located at 301 Jerusalem Ave. in Hempstead, with the intent to forcibly enter and steal merchandise. Detectives were able to arrest Burnett without incident as he climbed back over the fence and attempt to flee in his vehicle.

Burnett is being charged with 12 counts of third degree burglary. He is scheduled be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
