Nassau Man Threw Gun Out Of Car While Fleeing Officers: Police
Police say the officers tried to pull him over for a traffic violations, but he fled and started tossing things from his car.

A Roosevelt man was arrested Thursday evening after police say he threw a handgun out of his car while fleeing officers trying to pull him over.
According to police, officers on patrol saw a black 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse fail to maintain its lane while heading west on East Pennywood Avenue in Roosevelt just before 6 p.m. The officers turned on their lights and tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the Mitsubishi kept going.
Officers followed, and police say they saw objects being thrown out of the car. A short time later, the car struck a telephone pole and stopped. The driver, Cameron Morgan, 19, of Hudson Avenue, was placed under arrest.

During the investigation, police say a handgun was thrown from the car.
Two passengers in the car were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Morgan is charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and multiple traffic violations. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.
