Nassau Police Help Deliver Baby

The officers arrived just in time to help welcome the newborn into the world.

Two Nassau County police officers helped a mother in Roosevelt give birth to a baby girl Tuesday morning.

According to police, a 911 call came in for a woman in a home on Rose Avenue who had gone into labor. When police officers Anthony Montesano and Joseph Russo arrived, they found that the mother had just given birth. The two officers helped stimulate breathing in the baby and wrapped it in a blanket to help keep it warm.

Soon after, a Nassau County Police Department ambulance and medic arrived, as well as the Roosevelt Fire Department, to offer further assistance.
