Nassau Police Officers Revive Cats Pulled From House Fire

Police managed to revive the three cats after they were rescued from the house by firefighters.

Nassau County Police Officers were able to revive three cats that were pulled from a house fire in North Merrick Wednesday morning.

The North Merrick Fire Department and Nassau police responded to a house fire on Powell Avenue at 9:46 a.m. They arrived to find the house completely engulfed in flames. A man and two women who lived in the house were able to get out safely and without injury.

While battling the blaze, the firefighters gave the police officers three cats they had rescued from the home. The officers were able to resuscitate them by administering oxygen and giving them chest compressions with their thumbs. A neighbor was able to go into the house and rescue two dogs as well.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
