Nassau Police Searching For Man Who Approached Boy

Police say the boy was on his bike when a man asked if he wanted to get in his car.

Nassau police are searching for a man who approached a young boy in North Merrick Sunday afternoon and tried to get him into his car.

According to police, the 10-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on Hendrickson Avenue, near Grove Street, just before 4 p.m. He was approached by a man driving a blue Honda CRV with a gold New York license plate. The man asked the boy if he wanted to get in, and the boy immediately rode his bike home, and his parents called the police.

The man is about 60 years old and balding with grey hair. He fled north on Hendrickson Avenue.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
