Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events

There is much going on at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries this week.

How often do you visit the library?

Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.

With the school year approaching, many teens are getting nervous about their upcoming SATs. On Monday, you can start registering for an SAT preparation course at the North Merrick Library. Gamers can unite and play at a video game night, at 4 p.m. at the Merrick Library.

On Tuesday, the North Merrick Library is offering a class which will help you familiarize yourself with computers. Meet Your Computer will be held from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Bring your whole family back at 8 p.m. for a family movie night.

Wednesday, if your child is a member of the Reading Sharks at the Merrick Library, don't miss the Flow Circus at 7 p.m.  At the North Merrick Library, there will be an indoor concert. The Salute to the Fabulous Legends will kick off at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, head to the Merrick Library at 2 p.m. to learn how to make sushi. The Young Adult Summer Reading Club is having a party at the North Merrick Library at 7 p.m.

On Friday, bring your babies to the Merrick Library at 10:30 a.m. for water songs and rhymes. Tweens can head to the North Merrick Library at 4:30 p.m. to get creative and make their own erasers.
