Merrick won its opening game of the state tournament versus Camden, but fell to Garden City Sunday in nine innings.
Merrick needed Garden City to beat Camden Monday, or Camden to win by four or more runs, in order to remain in the pool tournament. Garden City took care of that part, beating Camden 2-0.
Two more wins for the Merrick girls and they will certainly see their entire hometown go mad for the Madness.
