P.S. I Love Brew: Merrick Students Promote Mental Health With Coffee Sleeve Designs
The sleeves are currently available at Starbucks locations in North and South Merrick.

MERRICK, NY. — Merrick coffee drinkers will have the chance to get their coffee with a side of art delivered right on the sleeve of their coffee cup this week, as new coffee sleeves hand-designed by Merrick students hit shelves.
District officials said the sleeves are an effort to promote mental health awareness while celebrating "P.S. I Love You Day," a day-long Feb. 13 effort to reduce the stigma around mental health struggles.
"Students from all three Merrick schools came together for a meaningful project: designing Starbucks coffee sleeves featuring positive messages," district officials said.

The nonprofit behind P.S. I Love You Day says its mission is "to instill hope for those affected by mental illness, fostering a supportive environment and a community where everyone feels welcomed, loved, and supported." Part of that goal is the Feb. 13 celebration, where the nonprofit calls for supporters to wear purple in support of its mission.
Calling them a "small reminder that kindness matters and every individual is loved," district officials said the sleeves are available now at Starbucks locations in North and South Merrick.
