Police: Man Charged in North Merrick Home Burglary
The man is also charged with two burglaries in North Bellmore, police say.

A 23-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested Thursday morning after he burglarized a North Bellmore home a few hours earlier, police said.
Larry R. Nero is also charged with two additional burglaries– one on June 10 in North Merrick and one on June 13 in North Bellmore, police said.
According to detectives, First Precinct officers responded to a burglary call at 2:36 a.m. Thursday on Stratford Court Upon their arrival, officers were informed that a male was seen fleeing on foot from the rear of the residence.

The officers conducted a search of the area with the assistance of the Nassau County Air Bureau and Canine Unit. After an extensive search, Nero was located in the rear yard of a Ray Place residence and placed under arrest shortly before 6 a.m., police said.
Nero was found to be in possession of the key to a Toyota 4-Runner, which was located nearby and had previously been reported stolen from New York City, police said.

A search of the vehicle turned up numerous forged credit cards along with a skimming device, police said.
Nero is charged with three counts of second degree burglary, 16 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of a forgery device and third degree criminal possession of stolen property. He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
