40 Second PSA – CHEWING GUM Ingredient Can Kill Your Dog

It is reported that thousands of dogs are dying from eating Chewing Gum, which experts say is 100 times more toxic to dogs than milk chocolate!
Sugarless gum contains xylitol, a natural sweetener that is lethal to dogs. It can be found in gum, mints, gummy vitamins, peanut butter, and even toothpaste.
Last year, more than 3,700 dogs were poisoned by gum from Xylitol.
Dancer (seen in left picture) is now on medication to support her liver after eating about 20-30 pieces of chewing gum. If just a couple more pieces were consumed, it could have been fatal.
Dancer’s new cute new nickname is “Socks” since her paws had to be shaved after being administered IV’s for her treatment.
Thankfully, because she is still so young, she is able to eventually fully recover to a normal health.
Chewing Gum causes a rush of insulin that can lead to blood sugar levels plummeting and a possible coma. Treatment for Chewing Gum includes: administered IV fluids, sugar supplementation in IV fluids, and liver protective drugs.
If you fear your dog is poisoned, please take them to an emergency room immediately.
Please keep Chewing Gum & all Xylitol products away from your pup at all times. Consumption can be fatal.
