Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. MERRICK, NY — Nassau County police are asking for the public's help as they search for a 15-year-old boy who was reported missing Saturday from his Merrick home, police said. According to police, 15-year-old Jordan Cruceta's parents saw him leaving their Henry Street home Friday night at 9:30 and reported him missing just after 11 p.m. Saturday. Police described Cruceta as a Hispanic boy standing 5-feet, 7-inches, weighing 145 lbs with a thin build, brown eyes and brown hair. Police said Cruceta's clothing and potential destination are unknown. Police have asked anyone with information on Cruceta's whereabouts to contact missing persons at 516-573-7347 or call 911.

Indigo Goodson-Fields is a writer, poet, and birder based in Brooklyn. Her forthcoming book, entitled Essential Birding is an anthology about the importance of birding in the lives of Black birders across the U.S. and will be published by OR Books in fall 2026.
