The South Merrick Community Civic Association is organizing plans for it's annual Spring Clean Sweep event that is scheduled to begin in April.
This event had successfully collected trash in location's such as Julian Lane Park and Cammans Pond Park in the past with the assistance from Boy Scout Troops and other student volunteers.

This year's cleanup is especially important with all the debri and damage that resulted from Hurricane Sandy. The Merrick Road Improvement Committee (MRIC) and the Friends of Cammans Pond Committee are asking for volunteers to assist in the cleanup and planting of spring flowers.
Volunteers may sign up at SMCCA's monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in the Merrick Road Park Golf Course clubhouse. Please contact SMCCA President Joe Baker at 516-978-8310 or southmerrickcca@yahoo.com for questions.
