State Police Looking To Solve 18-Year-Old Murder Case

Michael Williams was found dead in his underwear on the side of the Southern State in 1999. Police are still searching for his killer.

The New York State Police released the details of a cold case the they are still investigating, and are looking for the public's help to solve.

On April 23, 1999 at approximately 10:25am,state troopers received a report of a body found in a wooded area off the Southern State Parkway, eastbound, exit 21 (Nassau Road), on the Uniondale-Roosevelt border.

The victim was identified as 32-year-old Michael Williams. An investigation revealed he sustained two gunshot wounds to the torso and face.

When Williams was located, he was found wearing black and yellow “Joe Boxer” boxer shorts and a blue T-shirt containing characters of Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

An extensive background investigation of Williams revealed he was an illegal drug dealer who would transport drugs back and forth between North Carolina and the Bronx for sale in both areas.

Throughout the investigation, leads have been developed, followed and possible suspects interviewed. So far, no arrests have been made and state police are continuing their investigation.
