SUV Slams Into Store On Merrick Road

MERRICK, NY — An SUV crashed into a Merrick store on Monday afternoon. It happened just after 2:15 p.m. when the vehicle slammed into the Shapers Fitness on Merrick Road, Nassau police said.

There was no word of any injuries in the store and no one was trapped in the vehicle, police said.

As photos indicate, the white SUV went through the front window and came to a full stop almost entirely inside the gym.

The crash led to a swath of debris.

Police are investigating the crash.
