Taxi Driver Shot in Face by Two Men in Roosevelt
The men assaulted the driver after a verbal argument.

ROOSEVELT, NY - A taxi driver was shot in the face by two men who assaulted him in Roosevelt on Wednesday night, according to Nassau County Police.
After responding to 36 Jefferson Avenue to pick up a fare at about 9:15 p.m., the 42-year-old male driver for New York Taxi of Roosevelt was approached by two men who entered the rear of the taxi, police said.
After he got in a verbal argument with the men, they exited the taxi, went to the driver’s door and opened it, according to police.

A physical confrontation ensued and the driver was then shot in the face causing a serious eye injury, police said.
The man, who was transported to an area hospital for treatment, could only further describe the men as wearing black masks covering their faces and dark colored clothing.
