Teen Arrested For December Murder Of 16-Year-Old: Police

BREAKING: Alexon Moya was shot in the head in December. Police say they have arrested his killer.

On Tuesday, Nassau County police arrested a Uniondale teen and charged him with the murder of another teen in December.

According to detectives, Jeustin David Maldonado, 17, of Nassau Road, was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree conspiracy and second-degree criminal facilitation. He is also charged with fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and third-degree menacing from a prior domestic incident with his brother that occurred on Jan. 7.

Alexon Moya, 16, of Uniondale, was shot in the head on Dec. 13 while standing on Fenimore Avenue with his friends. He died in the hospital three days later. Two teens fled the scene on bicycles. Police say that Maldonado was one of the teens that fled.

Maldonado was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.

Police say the investigation into the shooting continues.
