The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Police are searching for two men who broke into a tax service and robbed it at gunpoint Friday night. According to police, the two men, armed with a handgun, entered Millenium Tax Service, located at 257 Nassau Road in Roosevelt, at 7:10 p.m. and demanded money. The men kicked in the wooden door to the booth where two female employees were sitting. The clerk opened the register and gave the men an undisclosed amount of cash. The two men then fled north on Nassau Road. There were no customers in the store at the time, and no one was injured. Police say the robbers were black men wearing dark clothes, hoods, masks and gloves. Detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
