BALDWIN, NY. — Veterans in hospitals and nursing homes are set to receive some extra Valentine’s Day wishes this weekend, thanks to the efforts of students at Brookside, Lenox, Meadow, Plaza and Steele elementary schools.

District officials said the students made and mailed over 1,400 handmade cards out of the district, which will be delivered to veterans around the country to celebrate their service in the armed forces.

“Baldwin UFSD proudly participates in this heartwarming initiative every year, which has resulted in more than 10,000 valentines over the last several years,” District officials said.
