On Tuesday night, at the Town of Hempstead Board meeting at Town Hall in Hempstead, the Board will likely approve the bid by Roadwork Ahead, Inc. to complete Phase II of the Campgrounds Rehabilitation Project.
The western half of the Campgrounds was paved in 2011 with promises to finish it in 2012. When that didn't happen, Campgrounds residents petitioned, wrote letters and went down to Town Hall to make sure that the Town included Phase II of the Campgrounds Project in its 2013 budget.
This area of North Merrick had been ignored for years. The North and Central Merrick Civic Association wishes to thank the Campgrounds community for its perseverance.
A united voice helped make sure that this project was not put off indefinitely. The NCMCA would like to thank Councilwoman Cullin, who has helped us move this project forward.
