- Police are investigating a gunpoint robbery at a Hempstead 7-Eleven that occurred on the evening of Thursday, April 21. Two individuals were in the store at the time of the robbery. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries reported. (Daily Voice)
- The 6th Annual Wantagh Spring Festival is coming! The Wantagh Train Station is the place for a giant craft fair, kids' zone, food court, free ice cream and much more on May 1. (LongIsland.com)
- Expect delays and detours caused by repairs on the Meadowbrook Parkway beginning April 25 each night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The work is set to last about three weeks. Find out detours at Patch.
- The Cradle of Aviation Museum is getting ready to unveil its latest addition, "The First American Woman in Space" statue. The work of art was crafted to honor Astronaut Doctor Sally Ride, who went to space in June of 1983. The official unveiling event will occur on Friday, June 17 at 11 a.m. (LongIsland.com)
