  1. Police Reveal Suspicious Person Sketch in Stranger Case: Nassau County Police have released a sketch of a “suspicious person” that’s sought in connection to the string of stranger incidents throughout Bellmore-Merrick in April.
  2. Cops: Merokean Drove Drunk with Kids in Car: A Merrick woman was arrested last Saturday after she was allegedly driving drunk on the Meadowbrook Parkway with her kids in the vehicle, cops said.
  3. Woman, Child Escape Merrick Avenue Van Fire: A woman and her child were able to escape unharmed after their van went on fire while she was driving on Merrick Avenue across from Merrick Avenue Middle School Wednesday morning. 
  4. Merokean Pleads Guilty After Failing to Pay Employees: Two cousins who own East Meadow’s Colony Diner, one of whom's a Merrick resident, pled guilty to charges they failed to pay 72 employees more than $500,000 in wages, according to Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice. 
  5. Locals Busted for Having Home Improvement Businesses Without Permits: A joint investigation between the Nassau County Consumer Affairs Department and the Fourth Precinct between April 29 and May 1 led to the arrest of 33 individuals for operating a home improvement business without a permit, including three from Bellmore-Merrick.
