- Police Reveal Suspicious Person Sketch in Stranger Case: Nassau County Police have released a sketch of a “suspicious person” that’s sought in connection to the string of stranger incidents throughout Bellmore-Merrick in April.
- Cops: Merokean Drove Drunk with Kids in Car: A Merrick woman was arrested last Saturday after she was allegedly driving drunk on the Meadowbrook Parkway with her kids in the vehicle, cops said.
- Woman, Child Escape Merrick Avenue Van Fire: A woman and her child were able to escape unharmed after their van went on fire while she was driving on Merrick Avenue across from Merrick Avenue Middle School Wednesday morning.
- Merokean Pleads Guilty After Failing to Pay Employees: Two cousins who own East Meadow’s Colony Diner, one of whom's a Merrick resident, pled guilty to charges they failed to pay 72 employees more than $500,000 in wages, according to Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice.
- Locals Busted for Having Home Improvement Businesses Without Permits: A joint investigation between the Nassau County Consumer Affairs Department and the Fourth Precinct between April 29 and May 1 led to the arrest of 33 individuals for operating a home improvement business without a permit, including three from Bellmore-Merrick.
