• N.J. man among 3 charged in online child sex sting (nj.com subscription) — Middletown was the site of charges against a New Jersey man accused of arranging an online sexual encounter with someone he believed was a child, following a multi-agency sting. Two other Hudson Valley men also face attempted rape or child endangerment charges. State Police urge anyone with information or concerns to contact Troop F headquarters in Middletown.
   

• Four drivers hurt in collision on I-84 in the Town of Montgomery (recordonline.com) — A Middletown resident was among four drivers injured when his car rear-ended another vehicle on I-84 in the Town of Montgomery, triggering a multi-vehicle crash and fire. All four motorists were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown. State police say the Middletown driver showed signs of impairment and now faces a DWI charge and traffic violations.
