1 Dead In 3-Car Crash On Taconic State Parkway
A 62-year-old driver tried to cross the parkway, but failed to yield the right of way to two cars traveling south, police say.

EAST FISHKILL, NY — A three-car crash at an at-grade crossing on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill claimed the life of one of the drivers Tuesday. State police said the collision occurred at the intersection of Carpenter Road and the parkway.
The initial investigation found William T. Faint, 62, of Yorktown, was driving east on Carpenter Road in his 2006 Ford Taurus.
He tried to cross the parkway, but failed to yield the right of way to two cars traveling south.

A 2016 GMC Sierra, driven by Alan B. Kinghan, 60, of Croton-on-Hudson, and a 2010 Toyota Matrix, driven by Rachel A. Rosales, 60, of New York, simultaneously struck Faint's car.
Police said Faint's car spun around before striking a utility pole, where it came to rest.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but Faint was pronounced dead.
Kinghan and his passenger, Richard W. Smith, were not injured.
Rosales and her passenger, Mary S. Nessinger, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Vassar Medical Center by EmStar.
The East Fishkill Fire Department, EmStar and the state Department of Transportation all responded to the scene, the state police said.
