1 Dead In Wallkill 2-Car Crash

Police said neither driver appeared to be impaired.

WALLKILL, NY — A Middletown man was killed in a two-car crash in the town of Wallkill Friday.

The New York State Police said Victor L. Hernandez, 56, of the city of Middletown, was driving a 2007 Scion TC west on Route 211 in the town of Wallkill around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Police said he was killed when he crashed head-on with a 1996 Ford Ranger, driven by Bruce W. White, 38, of the town of Montgomery, who was traveling east on Route 211.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

White was treated at the scene by the Town of Wallkill Ambulance for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police said the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but neither driver appeared to be impaired.

State police were assisted by the Town of Wallkill Police Department and the Town of Wallkill EMS.
