1 Dead When Truck Rolls Over In Liberty

Police said a truck failed to negotiate a curve in the road and went off the shoulder.

LIBERTY, NY — An 18-year-old man was killed in a rollover accident in Sullivan County.

The New York State Police said troopers responded to Stanton Corners Road in the town of Liberty shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday for a report of a single-vehicle rollover.

When they arrived, Mobile Medic and the Town of Liberty Fire Department were already at the scene.

Police said their investigation found that a 1995 Dodge Ram that was traveling on Stanton Corners Road failed to negotiate a curve. The truck went off of the road on the north shoulder and overturned.

Robert J. Lands, 18, of Neversink, was driving the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
