100+ Marijuana Plants Seized from a Dover Property

A Trooper spotted the plants while on patrol.

DOVER, NY — State Police nipped a marijuana-growing operation in the bud when they seized more than 100 plants growing on a Dover property.

Police said Joel Clements, 32, of Dover, was charged with unlawful growing of cannabis, a misdemeanor, and second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony.

A State Trooper was on patrol on East Duncan Hill Road in the Town of Dover and spotted the plants growing on Clements’s property.

Clements was arraigned in the Town of Dover Court and released on his own recognizance to return to court October 17.

This is the second marijuana-plant seizure within the last few days in the Town of Dover.

On Friday, State Police arrested another Dover man who they said had 14 full-grown marijuana plants on his property off Oniontown Road.
