15-Year-Old Shot, Killed Monday Identified

The shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. near the intersection of Main and Clinton streets.​

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Police identified the 15-year-old Poughkeepsie High School student who was killed when he was shot in the head Monday in broad daylight.

Jalani Jones was shot and killed by a person wearing a dark jacket with a hood, a face mask, green pants and black shoes, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. near the intersection of Main and Clinton streets.

Mayor Rob Rolison said Jones was one of 11 children in his family and was the youngest.

No arrests have been made, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
