1st Responders From Hudson Valley Save Girl From Drowning In FL

A state trooper and a firefighter from Hudson were in the right place at the right time.

HUDSON, NY — A state trooper and a firefighter from Hudson saved a 3-year-old girl from drowning Tuesday in a Florida hotel pool. Matthew Colwell, a state trooper, and Jessica Campeta, a firefighter, saw the child underwater in the deep end of the pool and rescued her.

Campeta started CPR to get the girl breathing again, while Colwell was on the phone with 911, clickorlando.com said.

They were able to get the child breathing on her own, and she was taken to a local hospital by emergency medical services.
